Legal Compliance Officer

• Responsible for dealing and communicating with the relevant regulatory authorities.
• Supervision, follow-up and ensuring compliance with all the instructions of the Capital Markets Authority and its executive regulations, the rules of Kuwait Boursa Co.
• Review and follow up all internal policies, procedures and regulations of the company to ensure its effectiveness and conformity and not conflict with the regulations, and instructions issued by the MOCI, Boursa and CMA.
• Ensure that all internal policies, procedures and regulations are written, updated and approved by the Board of Directors.
• Any duties and tasks assigned by Head of Legal Department are part of the job
• Develop an action plan and an annual program with timeline for compliance with Corporate Governance Rules, to follow-up and supervise the implementation of Internal Controls Audit comments in coordination with relevant departments.
• Identify any gaps, constraints, factors that lead to non-compliance and develop appropriate solutions to ensure compliance and oversee their application by the relevant departments.
• Preparing and reporting periodically to Head of Legal Department, and the Board of Directors in accordance to approved Compliance program, plan and timeline.
• Provide accurate and immediate advice to company regarding rules and standards of compliance and their applications.
• Inform the senior management and relevant departments of any new rules/laws issued by the regulators and date of implementation.
• Responsibility for communicating with Boursa and CMA, preparing and reviewing all correspondence and disclosures.
• Comply and submit all regulatory requirements timely to submit any response, reports or forms, and follow-up with departments in this regard.

• Knowledge of local regulatory requirements and obligations and the ability to identify emerging compliance issues and themes
• Strong team leadership, communication, interpersonal and management skills, and the ability to effectively communicate the strategic vision to various stakeholder groups
• Strong technical knowledge of compliance regulations and requirements, experience within a highly complex, financial institution, regulator or related industry participant.
• Effective negotiation skills, analytical thinking, multitasking ability, Legal and moral integrity
• Strong communication skills in Arabic and English, both reading and writing
• Expert knowledge of the company and the relevant market

Education / Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law preferred, or equivalence experience.
• + 5 years of experience of working as a legal compliance officer or legal assistant specialized in corporate governance affairs and communications with CMA and Boursa Kuwait.
• Professional qualifications in Compliance from compliance institutions (ICA, CRCM- CCEP- CCB)
